Welcome to the pages of “Inter-Self Lab”, an interdisciplinary research group, where philosophy meets (cognitive) science. Our group, led by philosopher and cognitive scientist Miriam Kyselo, is located at the Institute of Philosophy at the Technical University of Berlin. We aim to promote and develop an integrative view of selfhood and intersubjectivity. To this end, we rely on new developments in the philosophy of cognitive science (“4E cognition”) and we dialogue with psychology, robotics, neuroscience and the other cognitive sciences. We seek to foster cross-disciplinary collaborations between researchers who are interested in the relational and embodied self.
Miriam Kyselo is part of SCIoI (“Science of Intelligence”), an interdisciplinary research group preparing an application for the Excellence Cluster within Germany’s Excellence Strategy Program. In the planned cluster, researchers from various disciplines, including robotics, psychology, philosophy, biology, AI and mathematics join forces to investigate one of the greatest research challenges of our time: what is intelligence? Being part of the network has already proven to be a great inspiration and led to many fruitful exchanges. We submitted a pre-application and are currently waiting for (hopefully positive) responses! If want to learn more about SCIoI, check out the SCIoI website for further information!
